CONCEPT_AMA_21
海女, Japanese for “women of the sea”
Ama 海女 – This concept is a modern translation from the traditional Ama women. It enhances both the fragility and female strength expressed in a contemporary way. Design inspiration is taken from the Ama like the flowing effect of textile moving underwater, their free-diving gear, the colors and breathability of their fishnets and sustainable way of working. This translates itself into wide wrinkled textile details contrasting to fitted fits, mesh details for extra breathability, and most textiles sourced sustainably.
